Child Fatality Review

Through our Child Fatality Review Team, WEDCO tracks and analyzes child deaths in our district. These reviews identify preventable risk factors, especially in underserved communities, and inform public outreach campaigns around safe sleep, injury prevention, and maternal health.

What Sets Us Apart

What sets this program apart:

  • Quarterly case reviews with coroners, providers, and advocates
  • Prevention campaigns focused on racial disparities in infant deaths
  • Workshops on safe sleep, breastfeeding, and prenatal care
  • Grief support outreach — a dedicated team member connects impacted families to counseling, support groups, and funeral assistance

Our goal is not only to prevent future loss — but to support those navigating unimaginable grief with compassion and care.
